The myth of the Gallagher brothers from their early days in Knebworth, here’s how Britpop legends were born

Oasis are coming back. A deafening noise that has sent every platform involved in ticket sales for their highly anticipated 2025 live show into a tailspin, creating a generational reunion. Amid quarrels, brotherly love, speculation, controversy and records, only one question remains: who are the Gallagher brothers really?

Definitive Oasis, published by EPC Publisher and now in bookstores, is an in-depth volume that traces the most significant moments of the Manchester quintet’s career, from their beginnings to their two unforgettable Knebworth concerts, offering readers a unique and engaging experience.

Created with the intention of leaving out no detail of Oasis’ history, Definitive Oasis stands out for its thoroughness and accuracy, despite the challenge posed by the vast amount of sources and often conflicting statements by the protagonists.

The volume is enhanced by a rich photo archive, with rare images of the band, scans of vintage magazines, merchandise and memorabilia provided by the fans themselves. In addition, the work complements the printed experience with digital content: thanks to QR codes, readers will be able to access official videos, live performances, and TV appearances on YouTube, making reading a truly immersive experience in the history of Oasis and the music culture of the 1990s.

Definitive Oasis is not just a biography, but a multimedia journey into the life and work of one of the most iconic bands ever, a work designed for longtime fans and anyone who wants to discover the impact Oasis’ music has had on the world.

DESCRIPTION:

Two brothers. Working-class Manchester. A difficult scenario manages to give birth to a band capable of turning the world upside down with incredible songs about the hopes and dreams of five teenagers escaping the gray reality in which they lived. Then the birth of brit pop, the consecration as spokesmen for the working class and the phenomenon of “oasismania.” The realized dream of becoming the greatest rock ‘n roll band on the planet. A tale never fully told, until now. Definitive Oasis is in fact the definitive biography on the Manchester band. Authored by two fans now tired of incomplete narratives, it aims to be a book capable of leaving out no detail of the Manchester quintet’s career and allowing the reader an experience never before offered. From the story of meeting their parents, childhood, school, and early concerts, to the consecration of the two Knebworth concerts and the crisis of the Be Here Now recordings, Definitive Oasis analyzes every aspect and every moment of the band members’ history, using a photographic archive that alternates between images of the band and the merchandise, photos, and personal memorabilia provided to us by fans. In addition to this, the book is packed with qr codes that allow the reader to view and listen to extra YouTube content such as audios of demos, official videos, concerts, and TV appearances. Definitive Oasis is an ambitious idea resulting from four years of work, the publication of which coincided with the Gallagher brothers’ reunion. With a foreword by Alan McGee and content by Brian Cannon and Anjali Dutt, as well as photos by the best photographers who have captured the band over the years, Definitive Oasis is an unprecedented immersive journey into the history of Oasis and 1990s England that every fan of the band and every music lover should have in their library.
